Here is our Silkie Hen. She is almost 11 months old and has never laid a single egg. What gives? It IS a hen right? We have a silkie roo mentioned in another thread, and he's completely different. And yes, the two are in together.

Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

I would bet money that is a hen. Could she be hiding eggs from you?

Eggcentric, YOur chick looks exactly like my little black hen. If it was a roo, I think it would be crowing. Give her time, she will probably become broody soon enough and then you won't be able to get her off a nest. I wonder if she would sit on a decoy egg?

11 months wow!, are you giving her laying mash, maybe she doesnt have enough calcium. It may be just a quite roo. That looks like a hen, but sorta roo'ish.
