I purchased 2 5ish week old chicks. One is a sizzle and the other I’m unsure. Anybody have any idea what breed?

The sizzle is a bantam and he seems about the same size as her. He has feathered feet.

Also do you think it’s a female? What about the sizzle, male or female?

Where did you get them from? If it's from backyard breeder, then I suspect a silkie mix.

It was an egg from a hatchery I believe it was suppose to be a d’uccle I think she said but she thinks it was a mix up because when it hatched it looked completely different from all the others. It doesn’t have any extra toes like my white one which I know is a silkie mix.

Hmmm. Well, it does have the right shape for a D'Uccle, and the large feathers at the feet, too, like they have. But it doesn't appear to have the beard and muffs. So it could be a black booted bantam, which is exactly the same as a D'Uccle, except no beard or muffs.
Black would be an unusual color for them, though.

Which hatchery does it come from? If they have a list of breeds they stock we may be able to determine which one it is.

How small is he? I think he could be silkie x bantam Cochin.

I mean pretty small! Same exact size as the sizzle who is a bantam and I believe they were hatched just a few days apart. For size reference my older flock is 4 month old Dominique’s and when they were 4/5 weeks old they were double the size as these guys

I put my older girls out in the coop at 6 weeks old. These guys will be 6 weeks old tomorrow, I’m not sure how I feel putting them out because they are SO tiny! Do bantams need to be in the house longer? I feel like my girls are going to pick on them because of how small they are :hmm
