Does fluid in the crop always mean a sour crop or can it just be from the hen drinking water? I have one hen that I know has a sour crop,( she threw up and it stinks.). Another hen has a little water in her crop but I don't know if its a sour crop

I have never had to deal with this, but didn't want to leave you hanging. If you have done the research on sour crop on BYC and are treating the one that you know has it and this one is only showingvery limited signs....I would wait a bit. Watch and see what happens. A day. Again, I have never had to deal with this myself, but I know that we all tend to 'see' the same in our other birds. I am sorry I can't be more help to you.

Check in the morning to see if the crop has emptied first. Smell around the beak and see if there is any stink at all. Hopefully someone a lot smarter than I am, will jump on here with a course for you to follow.

The hen that i knew had a sour crop died but the other hen with fluid in her crop was fine. so they can get fluid in there crop just from drinking water and they will be fine
