fly eggs in open wound only an hour old....please help!

Is it possible her eye all looks one color because the pupil is so open that it looks like her eye color? (Compare to her other side.)

Bless her heart - she really is a mess. But you're trying hard, so we'll try hard with you.

Since you have her inside, it might take the other maggots a day to hatch. Just be forewarned and let's hope they just never hatch!

As for vaccinating, I don't believe you do the ducks but I could be wrong. Be sure by the way that you really give her good nutrition. Honestly, I'd give her some polyvisol vitamins and yogurt, maybe a little egg yolk to boost her immunity and whatnot.

You can do the same for your other birds, too - give them all a little boost in case they somehow get a bit of her bug - so they can fight it.

By the way, do them first in the day - and do her chores last. That way you're less likely to spread it.

none of the eggs hatched so i guess the venigar and swat killed the eggs. i got most of them picked off. she is drinking awhole lot of water. her droppings are really watery but she is eating good. i put some nutri-drench in her water. her neck looks really good i put some neosprion on it. both of her eyes are a dark color but one of them has a cloudy spot in it. i keep forgetting to get a picture.

The spot could be an injury, or could be "grey eye". If the pupil reacts to light, it's likely not 'grey eye" (mareks). The pupil would be unresponsive I believe.

On her runny droppings, yogurt and a little powdered oatmeal mixed into a damp mash usually clears that up.

I'm so very glad to hear that the maggots didn't rehatch! Phew!! Not as glad as you are, though, I imagine.

it seems as if she can see better when i trun the lights off. when the lights are off she will turn her head to the side and look at things and move her head around but when the lights are on she will just walk really slow and put her beak on the floor to see whats there untill she finds the water and food.

If her pupil is frozen open then she's probably overwhelmed by light with the lights on. With the lights off, her pupil is in its natural position.

Really though the only way we're going to know anything about the eye is if you can check to see if the pupil opens and closes when light is taken away and re-shone in her eye. Like a flashlight.
