Where on the bird's body is this wound?

It's in the left-middle of the roosters booty area. The right side still has feathers and just looks a little red, but not as irritated as the images posted.

Is this fly strike? Is putting Neosporin on top of the skin helpful?
He did have a dirty coop for a few days, but no sign of mites and no maggots present

Update.
I've been applying vetericyn and Neosporin.
It looks to be healing although still red. No mites no maggots and no open wounds
