Is this fly strike? Is putting Neosporin on top of the skin helpful?
He did have a dirty coop for a few days, but no sign of mites and no maggots present

This is an image of the roosters left-middle section of his butt. The right doesn't look irritated and still has feathers

Do you see any maggots. That is what flystrike is. If you soak her in warm soapy water, look closely, and pick any maggots off. Apply Vetericyn to the vent area. If no maggots are found, apply plain antibiotic ointment or vaseline.
Yes thank you, no maggots are present. No open wounds either. I applied Neosporin and will continue too monitor. I've read that sometimes they need an antibiotic shot? But was hoping to do more at home remedies first.

Welcome to BYC

Do you have photos of all of the bird?
What is his demeanor?

To me, it looks like blood blisters with some blood clots. Has he been being picked on?

I'd keep the neosporin on the skin and definitely monitor the area to see that it's healing.

Oh he looks super good otherwise. He still runs to peck anyone who enters the gate, and he's been eating and drinking normally. He does get chased by my second rooster but I've never witnessed him getting pecked in the butt, but could be possible.
