My friend just lost three of her chickens to fly strike. I’m really worried about my gals and boys is there a cure if your chickens get it? Is there something to prevent it? My coop definitely has flies and sometimes my hens get poopy butts. I believe it’s from being so fluffy. And my last question is there a certain type of flies or can all flies do it?

Treat for internal and external parasites to prevent diarrhea and irritated skin.
Clean/wash their butts immediately when there is poop stuck.
Trim back butt fluff to avoid poop getting stuck.

Don't overfeed on fruit or vegetables as they can cause diarrhea.

Keep their coop and run clean and dry as possible.

Ok thanks!
