Hollyflight shook her head. "I've been up 2 hours already!! Late risers!"

Martin yawns heavily. "Come flock, let's wake."

Zeffie (Zephyr) woke up. She stretched her left wing and left leg at the same time (for some reason I think it's cute when my chickens do that) and hopped off her perch.

Hollyleap saw a cricket and grabbed it, then continued looking for herbs.

Martin's crow pierces the still air. "Must you do that right near my ear?" grumbles Violet. (Yeah, I have a Lav Orp named Violet. What's with the "uh-oh"?)

(I have a character (and chicken) named Violet, I get confused when two characters are named the same thing.)

Snowy pecked a worm out of the ground in the forest. "Yummy," she clucked.

Omlette lie on the forest floor. She pecks the soft dirt, and lets her eyes roll back into her head sleepily.
Suddenly, she feels the ground shake. Shielding her eyes with her wings, she looks towards the source of the vibration.
Over the horizon, a cloud of dust is moving its way toward the forest.
