You’re supposed to only clip one wing because if you clip both they’ll be even again and they’ll be able to fly with little issue.I've never had to clip mine, but from what I've read it may work better to do just one wing—it unbalances them.
You can cover your chicken yard with gamebird netting. (Find it online—Amazon has it but I'm sure you can find other suppliers.) People I've seen use a T-support made of 2x4s. I think if it were me, I'd do a 4x4 post with a 2x4 piece across the top and bury the base several feet into the ground. I believe some folks just let the netting hold their support in place though, and I imagine that works just fine.
