Flying Hamburgs!

I have no roos, all pullets. They are lovely girls, even now. We don't have many trees in our yard so hopefully I won't have to worry about them being up trees (though the trees we have are quite tall). I'd hate to leave them in and let the others out. Would they complain or be content to have the large run to themselves?

The dog won't survive beyond a second attack. Her owner will get one warning and then she's done for.

I've got 4 pullets and a cockerel. They'll be a year old in July. The cockerel, so far, is calm and leaves us alone. We have the kids chase the roosters (we also have a Polish) around the yard until they corner them and catch them several times a week, and they carry them around and hold them until they're calm. So far, it seems to be making the roosters wary and staying away.

The hamburg rooster is very pretty. I really like him. And I've never had a problem with him or the girls not going back to the coop at night.
