I have a 5 year old silkie that has/ has Flystrike. I have removed the maggots, trimmed his feathers, soaked his butt in salt and Epsom salt baths, given him a bath, sprayed his butt with vetercyin since Sunday. I have also given him some leftover antibiotics. He seems to be better each day and actually crowed yesterday for the first time in a number of days. The maggots did not completely eat thru his skin. I'm assuming the maggots had being eating for awhile because they were rather large. he has a nice size sore under his vent and he is walking around a little stiff legged. My concern is,what if he has any internal maggots. What if some entered his body thru his vent. How do I get rid of any internal maggots and how do I tell if he has any.
