It does look much better!Its much MUCH better today!!! I first washed her but with some water (she got it muddy after her dust bath). Then, I flushed her with dilated hydrogen peroxide, followed by a glove cleanup (to clean her poop), and then, I thought I saw a maggot! So I rushed and got some hydrogen peroxide and water, I tried to flush it out. The water sprayed back...and got in my eye. Bad idea...I got some water and washed the wound. It turned out to not even be a maggot
Anyhow, I took the picture after her cleanup this time. Much better!
@Wyorp Rock when do you think she could return to the flock? Doesnt it look so much better? I am so happy for her! It looks way better without the stubborn poop which finally came off.
Only you can decide when she's well enough to return to the flock.
Depends on if they pick at her wounds, how well she fits it, etc.
You, of course, would need to keep up with cleaning the vent and wound a couple of times a day too.
