I am trying something new for my birdie girls. FODDER!!! I have only 4 hens so I want to do this fodder experiment small scale and easy! Help! Suggestions appreciated! Like what seeds and how to keep it from molding...and what would you use container wise... Thanks!!

Any thoughts in using a good quality bird seed?

Most bird seed mixes will have lots of ingredients that won't germinate, like cracked corn and rice.
If it's ALL whole grains it could work

My yesterday post did not appear in this thread so here it goes again.... I will try it and let you all know. Yesterday was day three and the scene looked swollen and ready to germinate. Today is day four and I am getting sprouting!

The pictures are of the seed being rinsed then spread back out to germinate and lids on them sitting on my dryer in my laundry room!! And we have sprouting!!!
