Curious if Quail will bother plants in their run. I have a large chicken run, 8x12 ft, 7 ft tall, and was going to plant some okra and roselle in it and introduce the quail after the plants have gotten a foot or two tall. My chickens would have destroyed any foilage, but will Japanese quail do the same?

I have grasses in their run which they love to hide and sit under and lay their eggs under they don't eat them but I did have a fern in there which they did eat so I removed it :)

They adore grass of any kind, they don't seem to eat it once it's established into a big clump so maybe transplant a few with a lot of dirt still attached. The hens will likely make nests among the grass and tend to lay their eggs there and one of my hens actually went broody and hatched several chicks and raised them for a few days :P

They will eat hostas - confirmed :P
