I have never been to China but I always saw it at night (much like Russia at night, more like any city at night.. they all look miserable places. Only the countryside at night doesn't look miserable)

The latter, done by the airline as you board the plane. However, as I board, I avoided the face scanning machine (an ipad) and was ready to make some effort of non-compliance without making a scene. Surprisingly I was let go.

Did they let you take your own toothpaste and toothbrush on the plane? They also gave you earplugs from the looks of it.
I have not been on an airplane since around 2012. I remember the food and the "keep your seatbelt on" reminders, but not much else (other than bugging Dad for the iPod touch and saying prayers).

Yes you can totally bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush.

At Doha Hamad Airport. What's with these Asians know how to build an airport.

Local time is 1055pm. KFC is open though . No laughing, I have to tell you that KFC is much more successful and tasty in Asia. Pricewise, if you divide it by 3.5, you get us dollars.

Your iPad probably has a fingerprint scanner or a face scanner.
Put a photo of chicken poo on the iPad as you pass by the machine.
