I put 8 duck eggs in the incubator yesterday morning.

5 from Smokey(Swedish mix)

3 from Rosy(Pekin)

We have two Pekin and one Rouen male (we’re going to process the Pekin males soon) so we’ll have to wait and see what the ducklings look like.

Sadly we are not keeping them, we are hatching them for our neighbor.

I will post pictures of the eggs as I candle them and keep y’all updated on their progression.

How are you incubating? Temperature and humidity..What type of incubator? Hatching on their side?

Not exactly sure what kind of incubator this is but it’s still air.

Temperature has been staying around 99.5*F.

What is the best way to monitor the humidity? We’ve used this incubator once before, but I had my mother help me. Last time, I think she just had to keep the ring at the bottom filled with water.

Not up right but laying on their side like as if in a nest.

Yes they are on their sides. I had to put them in styrofoam cup halves so they don’t roll around. I turn them 3 times a day.

For a still air (no fan added) incubator, temps should be roughly 101.5F (101-102) at the top of the eggs during incubation.

Cant wait to see the babies. Weve got eggs in our bator for the same reason.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this is the blood ring that’s becoming more and more visible.
