"Following" someone

im going to jump in and say "thats kinda creepy" following someone\

folks. just imo

It does sounds creepy but at the same time, I look at it as a way of learning. That is how I will use it.

There are some VERY experienced BYC members that are VERY knowledgeable about different things and if they are saying anything, I want to hear about it in hopes I can learn from them.

There is also an excellent cook/baker in the recipe section and I love everything that she cooks and bakes. And she posts pics of her work and recipes. I get a lot of ideas from her and I can drool at her dishes, especially her homemade bread. :drool So if she is posting in the recipe thread, I'm right behind her because I want to see what the "Meal or Dish or Bread Of The Day Is"
. It's almost like watching the Food Network on TV. :drool :gig

There are also a few BYC members who know a lot about diseases, illnesses, medication, etc and I also am able to learn from them in the event I have a animal that has a certain disease, I will know what to do and I won't have to do an "extensive" search in the event I have to find that particular thread.

I'm not sure why others use it but that is why I will use it
. ;)

Ooooooooooooooooooooooo, how did you know that is who I was talking about? :gig She is MY FAVORITE!!! I LOVE BETTY R !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:drool

So if I started following Red, then I'm actually also following Kathy and Mahonri??? It sounds like a giant Conga line! And what if Mahonri is following me? Then I'm just chasing my own tail??

I keep envisioning the model of the heart in the vet's office that's full of heartworm - pretty creepy!

But now i'm going to have to add YOU to my list too... Muhahahhaha

Ok, that was really funny!

Regarding "following": We should have changed the name to "subscribe". Keep in mind that the ability to "follow" someone isn't new, it just has alerts tied to it now. On the old system you could very easily find all the topics and posts another member posted. So, it's just the same, but more functional.

On the old site, you could "follow" someone, too, by searching for him/her and then looking up all that person's recent posts. So the "following" thing isn't too different, except that it probably makes knowing what your friends are up to a lot easier. It reminds me of "following" someone on Twitter...

Good question..i am following a few folks too... and i also chose the last option..
But i dont really understand how it works..
Like can i look in their windows?? Or just hang out in the bushes and watch them?...

Well, redhen, those are two methods that have served you well over the years. Why change now?
