Hello,
we just finished building the Purina Coop w/10ft run. We put the food and water outside under the coop. We lock the chickens in the coop at night and the food and water is outside. Should we put the food and water in the coop at night? I read they don't eat at night when it's dark and they are sleeping. They are let out about 730 am. However using a heat lamp not sure they sleep all night so don't know if the "don't eat at night" theory applies.

Thanks

Steven

You r correct they do not eat r drink & night. However, Food & Water left outside may attract cats, raccoons , opossums & other feral animals. I have forgotten feed containers out before &,next day food & container chewed up. Good Luck !

After 6 weeks they don't need water and food at night unless a light is on.

IF a light is on in the coop they do need water and food 24/7.

Make sure you let them out of the coop at daybreak if no food and water in coop. For all daylight hours they need their food and water.
