Food GOOD For Ducks?

What pelleted food has niacin?(I feed mine layena pellets and for treats rye grass and peas some times chopped up turnip or collard greens) Also does Purina make a "duck chow" ? I could'nt find it on their website.

I have Golden Cascade & Rouen Ducks. (1)Male & (1)Female of each. ~ and 16 of their eggs in the Incubator.~ I'm not sure on the exact ages but, they are still young and I'm pretty sure this is the 1st time they laid eggs. And...Yes, I probably would have tried Walmart for Purina Duck Chow. lmao

I was just asking about food too (thanks to those who replied!), and I want to make sure I'm clear on layer pellets. Are you all talking about layer pellets for chickens, or is there such a thing for ducks?

here is my tag.... the bag says "PURINA CHOW" on it. It is pelleted w/niacin supplement
from Purina Mills.

The babies will need a 20% str crumble WITH NIACIN, which is very important for ducks that chicken food wont have. I feed all my adults the duck grower and have oyster shells on the side for the girls when they lay, that way I dont worry about layer and grower and if the boys can eat layer or not. Simplifies things for me.

Hattiegun, Is this food label Duck Grower W/O for growing ducklings?I"m assuming it is since it looks like 18 % protien and I wouldnt want to keep feeding that much protien during wing development for fear of angelwing(But to each his /her own) Also what is W/O mean? Without what ? Also wheres the niacin and whats' it for? I forgot. One other quick question then I've drove you crazy enough

Where do you buy it? I tryed to look up this food on their website but couldnt find it. But I must confess I cant buy Flockraiser either here because my feed store can't (or won't) get it even though I use Layena for maintinence and they do special order Mazuri starter which is what I start my ducklings on and Mazuri breeder which I give them prior and during breeding season. Thanks for the answers on your food even if I probably cant get it anyway. I'm always interested in these type threads as well.

Shawn we can't get the Purina Duck Chow down South. It isn't made by a plant down here. We can only get what is made by the plants near us via distributors to our feed stores.
It really stinks. I will just stick with the super expensive Mazuri. I just can't make myself give them just Layena. I do mix some Flock Raiser with scratch & white proso millet and put out with their Mazuri, The Whistlers really like it, also they all get a big scoop of floating catfish pellets in a big bowl of water everyday
