Seeing how I am in the land clearing business and hemp will grow in marginal farm ground I welcome it in that regard. And like any other crop that has not found it's way to self sustainability in the free market the government will undoubtedly subsidize it.

I doubt that any in the cannabis community would care about or pursue government subsidies for their product. The plant can do wonders for our country if they take the blinders off, and stop the war. It is a fantastic food source, very healthy..easy to grow.

It is a fact that cannabis is the strongest soft fiber substance there is. Far better than trees to make paper and the paper from cannabis doesn't yellow (Hint the Constitution still intact). Hemp is impossible to get people high when it usually has less than 1% THC value. Our founding fathers grew hemp. The colonies were forced to grow hemp but chose to grow tobacco instead and be fined since tobacco was more profitable at the time. Hemp clothes are the strongest fabrics in the world and 40% more fire proof than cotton (cotton industry wouldn't like that) and also offers better UV protection from the sun and lasts longer. Hemp is also being used as a building substance better than concrete and brick it is called hempcrete. Why does the USA "ban" the growing of hemp yet we import it from Canada? I can go to my barber shop and buy hemp lotion if I wanted too. Also endocannabinoids are essential to our bodies and we are meant to ingest cannabis, endocannabinoids are also found in milk. Ever wonder why warm milk is a great relaxer before bed time?

To the people that say medical cannabis is an excuse to getting people high. If we were allowed to grow cannabis we would be able to make the strongest yielding CBD percentages ever heard of. With the lowest amounts of THC possible. We have strains right now that have 4.2% THC and 16.6% CBD those numbers are unheard of until recently. CBD and CBD are the main substances that have medicinal qualities.

The main reason cannabis is illegal and still illegal is because of the propaganda that was associated with it. A lot of yall still think it kills brain cells? It doesn't but has been found to help against brain cancer and a slight connection to helping your body create more brain cells.

Polls are opinions not facts. Like asking what you want for dinner. There is a reason the pro-pot crowd goes about legalizing pot through medical auspices and the like because they cannot sell the idea up front.

Such a ridiculous unfounded statement chickened! This is a Rasmussen poll. You can be sure if it were the "pot crowd" the legalization side would be far higher than 56%. As far as the medical cannabis, it is a scientifically proven fact that cannabis is highly beneficial. Thousands of peer reviewed studies have been done, and many are published online the National Institute of Health.

A government policy which has resulted in mass incarceration and illegal search and seizures due to a substance with a multitude of benefits, in addition to its miraculous medicinal applications, needs to be called out and shown for the disgraceful sham that it is, on every level. Those who support prohibition may have the DEA and the law on their side, but they are on the wrong side of ethics and common sense. Wake up.

That is what pharmaceutical companies say. Why create your own medicine when we can put you on pill roulette and cause your liver to fail. In a time of economic crisis we should be embracing every possible industry there is. Growing Cannabis for medicinal purposes alone would create almost 1 thousand jobs to every major city in every state. Why would you want to deny economic growth?

Just another stupid effect of the drug war, and a waste of money. Statistics have shown the Florida's new law has resulted in about a 2% fail rate.
A push to drug test welfare recipients, but no one else receiving government money (social security, medicare, government workers, congress, etc.) is discrimination of the poor. The policy declares only the poor should be persecuted for illicit drug use. In addition, those poor who suffer from false positives (such as the new mother who lost her baby due to a positive for heroin caused by consumption of a poppy seed bagel) are less able to find justice. Unwarranted drug testing is a violation of the 4th amendment to the constitution. The drug war also increases poverty. Those who have a criminal record are less able to find gainful employment.
