Food Quirks

Being a Newfoundlander we have some great food! Salt Beef and Cabbage boiled with potatoes and carrots. Salty yummy!

Salt fish boiled, and fat back pork fried and the grease drizzled over the fish and boiled potatoes, oh and don’t forget the ‘brewis’ (pronounced bruise) which is hard bread (hard tack), soaked in water till soft, warmed and also drizzled in the fat back pork grease 😊 mmmm salty and greasy! Yum!

Yep great food!
Is salt beef similar to corned beef? We have that every March 17th prepared just as you described.

What kind of fish?

Hmm, weirdest thing I've eaten is probably the peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. But I use sweet pickles.

And my husband thinks it's weird that I like to dip my popcorn in cheese (nacho cheese, salsa con queso, stadium cheddar, whatever). But he always gets extra cheese with his nachos at the movie theater and lets me have what's left after he's eaten the chips 🥰

Oh! I do have a sweet potato burrito recipe that's pretty odd. It includes soy sauce and mustard.

Okay, I usually go for straight up plain yellow mustard on my dill pickle sandwiches but this sounds like something I'd be intrigued to try. Gotta ask though, why particularly Clausen?
Flavor and crispness. They are never cooked. Try them and see! 😉 :drool

ETA, you will find them in your grocer's refrigerator case.
