Food Scraps?

I know I spoiled them by chopping up all veggies, now I tried to leave them with big pieces, but they wont even try to pick at it...

Ha. They will when they get hungry. As an animal trainer I see lots of people spoil their dog to where it doesn't want to eat dog food. I fast my dogs once per week (if they don't do it themselves). By the end of that 24 hours they are ready for a meal and will eat most anything. If they get hungry, they'll eat it. I have a school right here on our street. As soon as summer is over I'm going to ask if they will give me their scraps. This will cut down on feed and they love it. I put everything out. Even the "bad" stuff. They just don't eat it if it's bad for them. They are smart little foragers. They seem to already know what not to eat. Many people have huge compost piles and dump casino or school scraps on them. The chickens eat what they want and move on. Healthiest chickens you've ever seen. They don't seperate avocado peels or any other on the list of "bad" foods, so neither do I now.

I never fast my dogs yet they eat their kibble twice a day with a vengeance. If they do NOT eat I know they aren't feeling well and pay attention.

Just because you "can" get away with doing something that doesn't mean you "should" do it; that rule applies to most everything in life -- relationships, family, jobs, caring for animals, etc...

Kibble and Raw Diet are FAR different. Fasting is something that happens in nature. Kibble is processed and not comparable. The bagged food sensation hasn't been around very long. Much like bottle water. Why do you feed commercial kibble?

Uhhh...I feed my dogs high quality kibble and occasionally raw meat.

Raw meat does not mean chicken bones with no meat, it also doesn't mean fish heads.

I feed my chickens a high quality flock food with added added supplements such as "Poultry Booster".

I do not gather rubbish from the local schools and grocery meat departments and then feel pleased that my animals are willing to eat it after "fasting" since after fasting they will "eat anything".

I don't need to argue with you. You said it all when you said "high quality kibble". Study up on the subject. We are done here. Thanks

No, we don't need to argue. And I do hope you will stop telling folks to feed their chickens (or dogs) garbage from trash bins without concern regarding the "bad stuff".

I think you may need to read better. I've just been looking at your posts here and they make no sense. I never said any of that. Wow. Get a life and quit trolling.

I half way agree with you, but fasting a dog is a little harsh, but you may not fast, I may have read it wrong. dogs like people food much better kibble though, my dogs refuse to eat kibble so they get beef stu or liver. (If my writing is a little off, I am tired and want to sleepXD)

Fasting a dog is a normal thing to do. People fast themselves. So do dogs. If I ever have a dog get sick (diarrhea/vomit) I indeed irately fast them for 24 hours. It doesn't fuel the fire and starts letting their stomach feel better. Canines would not kill on every hunt and therefore would fast that day/night. It's not harsh. They're animals that we've brought in and adapted to our world.

Some say not letting them run free is harsh treatment. Just in the way you look at it.
