Food stuck in chicks eye

My 2 day old appenzeller spitzhauben chick got some chick crumbs in her eye. I dropped some water on it and hoped it would go away. I think due to the heater lamp it has hardened and gone crusty. Any advice? I don't want her to go blind. Should I keep putting water on it? Or consider touching it? I'll post some pictures. Thank you xx

Use some saline and wet the eye. Let it set there a minutes, and very gently wipe the food off, and repeat if necessary. You can make saline by adding 1/4 tsp of salt to 8 ounces of water, and boiling it for 5 mintiutes. Let it completely cool, and store in a clean jar. Or buy some at the drug store.
