I was at the feed store yesterday. On the self with the poultry medications was a tub of Poultry Supplements. It was basically a Vitamin Pill in the form of a pellet. The instruction said to apply to the top of their feed in the morning. It claimed to be for helping week birds, birds that were moulting, before and after worming, during breeding, during laying or setting, or anytime a chicken needed a boost.

Has anyone else seen this or used it? Does it sound like junk or something that may be useful on occasion?

Did you read the ingredients on the package? Sounds like it just has extra protein and minerals. If your chicken is having any issues it is typically seperated from the flock and cared for in that way for the time needed. It is not cost effective to provide that supplement to the entire flock. Just another marketing thing that is not necessary.

Did you happen to get the name of the product?
There are many products that will help in the time of stress and molting, your basic Vitamin/Electrolyte will do that but there are some products that are far superior than your basic Vitamin/Electrolyte if you have the name of the product that would help.

Products like Rooster Booster Poultry Booster, Rooster Booster Poultry Cell, Calf Manna, Kicken' Chicken, Cod Liver Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Molasses are just a few that are good supplements in time of molt if you are already feeding a higher protein feed. I will also add it isn't the amount protein but the type and quality of the protein/ amino acids that is in the feed/ feed supplement that is best.

In my opinion Rooster Booster products are far better than most.
