Hello!
I just adopted a two year old satin silkie chicken from a show breeder who "had no use for her anymore." Her loss, my gain, as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway, she was caked with poop, has a big red sore on her head that has creepy crawly mites of some sort crawling in it, empty crop and starving... She clearly hasn't been well taken care of.
I gave her a bath and a hair cut, tended to her head wound, fed her, and she's resting easy inside (I'm going to quarantine her for two weeks, of course, before adding her to my flock). I can't make it to the farm store tonight (it's far), but I want to get her some electrolytes sand probiotics and whatever else might help with the stress being rehomed has put on her body.
What foods and drinks could I get her at the grocery store that could help prevent illness from stress?
Thank you!!!
