The funny thing is, I was not at all a finicky eater as a kid. I would eat just about anything. I have much more food dislikes now than I did then. I used to love broccoli, now I can't stand it. Same way with mushrooms, cooked or raw. I used to love them, now they totally gross me out.

Didn't even think of Jello...green or any other color....never considered it food for some reason. Still not on my list to ever touch....

Well the topic is what did you hate, but now love, there's a list of foods and a few textures I find revolting, the semi-solid of cottage cheese for example. I don't care for "smushy foods" jello, unpressed tofu, frozen yogurt, cream cheese, avacado.

I want my food firm and tastes should explode on your tounge and slide down your throat (like a good thai chili), nothing bland tasteless or mundane in my kitchen.

I used to not be caught dead with Jello salad mold on my plate. Now I love jello anything. I especially love it poured hot over white cake and refrigerated.

I have this memory of my dad cooking something and it was soooo bad we wouldn't eat it. Funny, I can't remember what it was, but I remember him making us get on our hands and knees to pick it up from behind the drapes in the dining room.

Lol, that reminded me, a few years ago Evan saw a cookbook with a big rainbow jello mold on the cover, he insisted I buy the book and make it for him. So I did a 12 layer mold that is made in a bundt pan, took something like 12 hours to make....

Then I flipped it over and the darn thing seperated in the middle! I was so mad, I used bamboo skewers to realign it.... then cut him a piece....

"mom do you mean I need to EAT this thing?"

I know this is rather backward for the original posting , but
I used to love Jello, didnt matter set or liwuid and warm as a kid.
Now though I cant stand to look it in the bowl

When we got sick as children it was mothers cure all that and sweet tea. I still love sweet tea but I can not handle that wiggly mass of quivering slime.

I HATED Scallops and still do they are gross rubbery round things

My daughter who is 12 now, the only thing she wouldn't eat growing up was sweet potatoes, now she loves them. She is just like me as far as taste, we could both live on pickles!!

I used to hate steamed oysters. Now that I live near the coast, we eat them almost every weekend when they are in season and I like them juicy. My DH made an awesome oyster cooker. Only locals...Lockwood Folly and Shallotte Point oysters are the best!!!!!
