Hello! Took this baby home today. Silkie bantam. Standing upright mostly but I know silkies are pretty much impossible to sex. Can posture like this be an indicator of roo? Any other methods besides vent?

Thanks, that’s helpful! Assumed that may be the case.
The photo might be making the feed seem larger than it is but you
might want to think about taking a hammer the feed to break it up into smaller pieces for the little chick.

Sweet little chick. Hope you have some others to keep it company.
Too young for DNA sexing (unless you hatched it and have the egg shell). They need to have some feathers to send for testing. With silkies, around 4 weeks of age. Which is still way younger than you otherwise will know. Most silkies can not be sexed until they are about 4 months of age. 😊
