Foot help..

You are only saying this because another poster did. I ONLY use white lights. NO RED LIGHTS. I have raised bobwhites without pecking problems.

Well no I am saying that because its be proving white light will cause pecking in bobs and ringneck, redlight for brooding even for chickens are best.

Bet I have raised a hell alot more bobwhite than you......trouble your info will cause more harm for people new to bobwhites, check and see how the large quail farms and pheasant farms brood their chicks.......dark barns with red light.

I post info i learn from raising these birds....not misinfo from the internet.........I do what works with these birds, heck hatched out 1200 a week a few years back.

Tell someone to brood bobwhite under white light ,may work for a little time......but not in most cases.

I had a few bobwhites that were under a white light and pecking was pretty bad in them. Either way aggression is bad. Red lights do seem to help a lot though...

I understand where you coming at, I do admit, I have my bobwhites for hobby and I only raised 100 of them and not planning to breed them that much. I have them in pairs and trios and that is it. Beautiful birds. But I do have them under white light. All my birds are under white light. I learned the "recent info" in college but I take in consideration the other facts too. The more help the merrier. Thank you for your advise.

For some reason I sense a locked thread coming up

Just to set the record straight since some people are having trouble following the facts, the OP's bobwhite chicks (12 chicks) are:

-Housed outdoors in a 2' x 4' brooder in her garage
-2-3 weeks old
-Brooded @ 95* with a red heat light
-on aspen bedding
-fed 28% Manna Pro game bird starter feed
-all but 2 of them have swollen/bloody feet

So let's try to offer suggestions to help the poster instead of attacking each other, hmmm?

Nooooo i am fine....but best thing for this girls bird remove any with blood on them, like i post early any blood will draw all them to start pecking, another thing is lack of water.........no water they will find something to drink..be it blood or what. Not that I'M saying they don't have water, but water freeze this time of year, and i don't think she has water bowls heated. but in this case they are in a brooder.

When one bleeds it is like a signal telling them to peck. I would isolate the two problem birds and try to reintroduce them after they have all healed.
