I have a chicken with a foot infection following a small cut on the foot.
Picture enclosed. I’d appreciate any thoughts about the most helpful treatment.
Thanks so much.

Your picture did not attach,,,, but I can still offer advice per your description.
Clean wound, with water, or alcohol. Alcohol does cause a stinging sensation for short time. If you think you can tolerate holding a chicken in slight discomfort for short time,,,,, go with the alcohol. Use cotton balls to apply if you have. Otherwise just pour over wound.
Then apply some of this lotion. Yes, it is people grade, but will work just fine on chickens, or other pets.

This is available at many stores, and under different brand names, as well as generic. Walmart Equate is about ½ price of brand names.
Wrap wound with gauze, lightly,,, to keep dirt out. You may need to tape with athletic tape, or similar to keep it from falling off. Change, bandaging ,and check wound for healing daily. You may need to reapply Ointment until you can see wound healing, and closing up.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:

Small cuts have a way of becoming big problems, so it's good that you are taking steps now. One of my runners had a small cut on her foot, so tiny I didn't even see it. Then, infection set in, and her foot and leg swelled up, the leg joint got stiff, and it's taken two weeks worth of vet treatments to get her to a point where Fran can almost walk.

I didn't take her to the vet for two days because I didn't see the cut and thought she had just strained a leg muscle.

Hope your chicken fully recovers!
