Foot injury

Hello, I noticed my chicken did not want to walk as much. She was still eating and drinking, so I put her in an epsom bath to examine her and then saw her feet, which is attached below. I have removed the piece of plastic, applied ointment around the area, and wrapped her foot so she won’t put more pressure on it. I believe the plastic was squeezing her foot! There isn’t a poultry vet nearby, so im wondering if I can do anything at home to help. I’ll bring her to someone if possible.

Thanks for the reply! Is there any tips you have to prevent infection, or is antibiotic ointment enough?

Antibiotic ointment should be fine! If there is an open wound keep it moist with the ointment. Make sure it’s the kind without pain relief!
We actually had a chick that came with a zip tie and we waited too long to take it off so it had made quite an indent but there was no open sore so we didn’t do anything with it at all and she has been perfectly happy and healthy
