Good evening everyone and to all my chicken lover friends.
It’s been a long time since I have been on the forum and I’ve missed everyone.
One of my chicken babies is limping. I got her off roost and it looks like she has a sticker thorn or something that has her foot pad swollen, even to the point of her whole leg bigger than the other
About 2 weeks ago I examined her and found this and sure enough there was a hole in the fatty part of foot. I applied a prescription antibiotic ointment and then applied new skin as antiseptic and the idea of using this glue type substance to cover the hole
I’m going to either have to take her to vet for antibiotics because what I done isn’t helping
I wonder if the foreign object is still in there. My heart is sad because I know she’s suffering and is limping
Thank you for any and all advice and insight. God Bless you all!
Sincerely,

Look up bumble foot. The pus isn't like human pus. It's harder and the scab forms a cork so you have to pull out the cork, and push or debride the hole of the somewhat solid pus.

You can do Epsom salt foot soaks (easiest is to take a bin and cut a head sized hole in the top of the chicken stays put.) then try to get the stuff out. Then you can do antibiotic ointment (without the pain relief chemical) or a drawing salve, and wrap up with vet wrap, being careful not to cut off blood supply to foot/claws.

You may have to repeat.

They can get bumble foot anywhere but you can also run some sandpaper over the roosting bars in case that caused it.

Also, wear gloves-- it's basically staph.
