This is our one year old cream legbar roosters foot. David does not think it's bumble foot because it doesn't have a hard lump inside it. It also doesn't appear to have compromised any. There is no apparent injury. And he isn't acting like he's in pain.

Any feedback on what this is.

This is the most recent photo. The second one is about a week ago.

I would start doing a warm soak to the feet daily for about 15 minutes using soapy dawn or Epsom salts water. You could also use sugardine paste (Betadine mixed with sugar) or Prid and apply it to a 2x2 dressing and vet wrap to the foot pad daily for a bit. Then if a scab is formed, remove it and squeeze out any pug plug that has formed. Afterward, apply antibiotic to the scab with a new dressing.

Thank you. We are soaking him in epsom now. I figured that would be a good first line treatment regardless. We have some vetricyn. Will this work? We don't have betadyn. I was thinking vetricyn with honey. And, after cleaning it well before soaking, I saw a small hole - so I am leaning towards bumble. But I didn't feel a core

I would continue daily soaks which may bring infection to the surface. Betadine is sold at
Walmart first aid aisle for under $10 as Equate First Aid Solution povidone iodine. Mix it with sugar in a small cup and apply it on a 2x2 gauze square. They sell that and cohesive dressing/vet wrap in the same aisle. Bumblefoot is not an emergency most times, and you can work on this over a few days. This video is not about sugardine, but it shows how to treat bumblefoot and eventually get out the pus plug inside along with a good tutorial on the foot dressing:

Thank you very much!
