Foot swollen and splitting

Can anyone tell me what might be going on with this? Our Polish hen flew over the run fence and started limping. Her foot and leg felt swollen and hot. After two days, the scales on the top of her foot split apart, and it’s just gotten worse since then. It has been a month. We’ve tried epsom salt soaks, bandaging, splinting, neosporin, and nothing has seemed to make any difference.

It looks as if the old scales are dead and she's growing new scales and skin, which is good.

I was hoping that pink line might be a good sign! But the black area keeps spreading at the same time! She’s got us so stumped.

I think its infected. Keep it clean and you could apply some triple antibiotic ointment if you have it.

Poor girl!
Did you ever notice any bone sticking out or if the leg looked a bit crooked like it was broken or fractured?

Hate to ask, but can you get some photos at different angles, the other side of the leg?
How often have you changed wrappings?

I'd like to see @Eggcessive or @coach723 chime in.

Have you been soaking in Epsom salts the entire month? Or just a couple times?

Do you have any idea how she may have injured herself? If it isn't likely an injury, it may be cancer.
