For anyone who know any thing about call duck

I have a female snowy call duck her eyes are matter shut and they have watery like stuff coming out of them what can I do for her. Her eyes are so sore she cant open them

She needs to have access to clean water to wash her head in all the time. At this point, I would say get some Veterycin spray and gently spray her head including her eyes - follow the directions.

In the meantime, get her into a lukewarm tub of clean water and let her wash.

Then get a spray bottle - very clean - that has a mist setting, and make a salt solution. Here is a recipe from frugallysustainable.com. It is for humans, but it seems to me it would be okay for the duck.


Basic Eye Wash
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 cup boiling distilled water
Directions: Dissolve salt in boiling water. Allow mixture to cool completely.
Use: Flush eye with wash using an eyedropper several times a day. Use wash daily until symptoms resolve.

You need to evaluate suggestions and go with what you feel is best, I am not a vet, just telling you what I would probably do in your circumstances.

The Veterycin is a really good product.

And the lukewarm clean baths will help, so start that right away.

Ducks need to be able to wash their heads. You may be doing that already, but something is not quite right, and I don't know much about her environment at this point.

I keep my duck water very clean at all times my animals come first here i have been cleaning her eyes thanks for ever thing

yes it is they have a kids swimming pool and it is empty ever hour and refilled

Every hour? Seems a bit excessive. I mean good for you, but...yeah, excessive.

Also, after reading through your posts I'm seeing an alarming pattern - virtually all of your birds are suffering from serious health issues. Something smells fishy. You need to get your pets treated ASAP. How many ducks/peafowl/chickens do you own altogether, and what kind of space are they all living in?

The duck is all better and all the birds I have here all save bird they was all sick when I got them and I made them all better and they have three archer to run on and the duck pool it need to be clean not dirty and I only have 15 or 20 birds I don't need help from here I just wanted to see how ever one would answer my question my birds go to the vet and they are very healthy birds now
so I am glad you thing some thing small fishy because I know what I am doing I have save a lot of birds in my life time and I have people calling me and asking me to help them with there birds as will so I don't care what you think about me you don't even no me but you have a very good day and by the way I don't own peafowls and a lot of you people thing you now ever thing but you don't have a great day

I have looked at this thread like 3 times and told myself to shut up, but I it would seem I don't listen very well....
The people on this site have helped people with their trials, their troubles, their attempts, successes, failures. I love the support that comes whether through the sad tears of failing or the happy ones of succeeding. If you need help they would surely help, even if ur pride is wounded. But if you're here as you say, seeing what they would say, when you know it all already, and in my opinion wasting people's time that could be helping the ones that are truly in need of it - well shame on you!
If you are this knowledgeable and have all this free time, why wouldn't you be using it to help people?
So I'm with Amykins "Wow. Just...wow."
