What a wonderful story that choked me up and brought tears reading it. Whether it is accurate or the names were changed is irrelevant to me...what it symbolizes is the important statement.

God Bless our troops and keep them safe because they do make such an enormous sacrifice for all of us.

Quoted from Snopes.com:

"However, that the story may not be literal truth doesn't prevent it from being figurative truth. Those who serve overseas do so at the cost of great personal sacrifice. A tale such as this - literal truth or not - serves to remind us all of how much they give and how much we owe them."

I received this story in an email, and was so moved, I didn't stop to think or care whether or not it was true. I just wanted to share it with you.

I'm such a baby, stuff like this always makes me cry. It's a very nice story although I am fairly sure it is not true. It makes me so sad for all the soldiers who are not going to be coming home, and all the pets who have ever been left behind when their owners pass. How difficult it must be for any dog to be rehomed.
