For eggs will Buff Orpington Bantams be okay?

Yes I built a small city coop so "saving room so I could have more hens"

, was a factor for me too. Also, the "neighbor kids like to pick my chickens up", thing, was a factor.

I know this is an older post - but I found it when I googled for info about bantam Buff Orps. What beautiful young birds in your pics! Your notes says they're from Cackle - but I thought they only sold straight run on their bantams. How'd you managed to get just hens?

Any newer pics - or more comments about their behavior / attitude / personalities?

I got them from Cackle. Sadly I didn't get all hens. I got mostly hens which I thought was pretty lucky. the minimum order in the summer was only 15 birds which helped also. I grew them until they were old enough to sex, picked the nicest of the hens, and gave away the rest. I won't lie to someone if I kow a chick is male, and that makes it hard to re-home roos. I strongly suspect the roosters mostly went home to the freezer but, well, what can you do. At least orpingtons (even bantam ones) are yummy.

Their personality was wonderful. Gentle, quiet, and sweet. I spent a lot of time with them and they were very, very tame. Unfortunately they were so well mannered I never heard a sound as they were picked off one by one. When I got down to only 2, I sadly gave them away to someone who wanted a couple of lovely hens. I increased security and added locks and an extra enclosed run to the coop. Then I got a new group of birds (araucana) that are nice enough , but nowhere near as freindly. I no longer let my birds loose in my yard.
