Way OT, but I think that is allowed in this section...

I am getting ready to host the carnival of homeschooling at my homeschool blog (http://principleddiscovery.com ). Basically, anyone who has blogged about homeschooling can send a link to their entry and I put all the links together in one big entry.

I'd love to hear about your homeschool experiences with chickens! (Or any other topic related to homeschooling).

Here is the link to the submission form. http://blogcarnival.com/bc/submit_199.html

I work and homeschool and i'm addicted to this wesite... so, unfortunately, no time for a blog.
My son is currently doing a hatching journal, though. He picked an egg, we incubated it, he tracked the progress, it hatched. He's continuing the project with a journal of his chick.
He wants to enter it in 4H as well. It's been a great project so far. He's 7. We just started 2nd grade on June 1st.

How cool! I want to do that with my children with the next batch we raise.

With my youngest, we did a science journal detailing embryonic development. We candled daily and wrote down average temp, temp highs and lows, humidity levels, etc. He also sketched what he saw when we candled and wrote down any observations (field journal style). My son is 13.
