for inside coop??

Can you tell me what is the best thing to use in a coop or stalls and nest.For easy clean up.I'm already using hay for the nest and then i scatter it al over it. So maybe it will make it easier. Also i put somme under a roosting place i made out of 2inch sticks and smaller one they love it. I guess any thig is better than were they were at. Not tring to put the guy down. He is a nice person. It just seem like he has them packed in there if you know what i mean.I guesse thats ok with some people i just want min to have all the room i can give them.but any was is there any thing cheap are worth the money to buy and what not to use. thank you

I use hay for the nest boxes and pine shavings for the coop floor litter. We also use the Deep Litter Method for our coop floors and love it. In the long run, it is minimal work with minimal litter usage and no smell or flies, at all!

I understand what you mean by not putting anyone down. Our land lady keeps her birds in "iffy" conditions (coops/runs) and we've offered advice to no avail. She keeps replacing birds to predators and illnesses and we've only lost one to a genetics issue.

Just know that you are trying to do the right thing by/for your flock and never get discouraged since we're all here for you, for the same reason...a happy, healthy flock!

I use straw for nest boxes and floor (dirt floor). Pitch fork seems to clean up the floor pretty good cleaning once a week. Every month or so I use a yard rake and scoop shovel to do a better cleaning.
