Well,

To clue all that didnt hear in, my cat vanished. About a year ago, Fred and his siblings were born in the woodpile by a stray cat. The mother vanished, and Fred, his brother and his sister all still live here. We feed them, and Fred is super sweet. He curls up in your arms, and if you rub his belly, he'll drool on you! Anyways, a few days ago, he vanished. No sign of him at all. His brother was gone as well. There is a house down the road that has a cat that looks like Fred, and yesterday there was a dead B&W cat in the road. I thought it might be Fred, but my mom wouldnt let me check. We got out there today and there he was! The dang cat about gave me a heart attack and he's fine!

Unfortunately, my friend's dog had a bad run in with a plastic bag. She just had puppies about 2 weeks ago. I do NOT agree with breeding dogs, especially mutts, but the boy got her before they got her spayed. They found her today in the backyard with a plastic bag wrapped around her head, she had died. So now my buddy has to bottle feed all of the pups. Its really terrible.

So happy to hear you found your cat!!!

Always terrible to think you lost a beloved pet. The day before Thanksgiving my Biscuit (a yorkie) dissapeared. I thought he was just in the tack room when I shut it to go riding. But when I got home and started looking he was no where to be found. I was devastated. Made lost dog signs and of course thought the worst. Turns out the pound picked him up from right in front of my house!! minutes after we walked down to the barn. Biscuit loves everyone, so he probably heard or saw someone and ran out to say hi. There is only a thin line of trees between the house/barn and the road. Anyway, we found him safe and sound. Bailed him out, had him microchipped and brought him home. So....lesson of the day.....pound picks up even out here in the sticks! They do microchip for only $5 though.

As for the loose of the mamma dog, the poor thing!! Such a horrible thing to happen to any creature. Good luck with those babies. I know how hard it is to hand raise puppies, and I only had them for a weekend while my friend was out of town!.

That's terrible about the dog being suffocated

Having "lost" Killer Kat for 11 days I can understand how upset you must have been. Glad your kitty made his way back home. You said the brother cat was missing as well. Has he returned?

Thanks, Shannon! That's so terrible. Im glad you guys found him. She's raised puppies before when her friend's dog died during labor, so she knowns what she's doing, but its still terrible to have to do it.

Yeah, it was really sad, SE. Im really happy Fred came home though, I was so worried.

Gritsar, I forgot to put that in there! The brother came back about 2 days before Fred, that's why I was even more worried. They were all there today and enjoying the duck eggs I gave them.

That's great OEGBman!

When Killer Kitty disappeared, this was awhile ago, I posted here on the forum about it. She was locked in an outbuilding for 11 days. Came out none the worse for wear. I contribute that to her excellent mousing abilities.
