Here's one for cleaning your drains. It helps with slow drains and helps get the gunk that can start to smell out.

I put a cup of baking soda and about 2 cups vinigar down the drain wait about 20 mins. and flush with hot water.

She was looking to buy PUL to make her own diapers - perhaps you guys can get together.

If you've never tried cloth, you should look into POCKET diapers like the FUZZI BUNZ - those are easy to make, easy to clean, quick to dry etc....

glad ya posted this southern. some of us like the old ways. use what ya got or make it. we wash 1 or 2 loads of clothes here a day.and i really enjoy making things with the kids so they can learn. think I'm gonna try Ur detergent recipe.
oh and ((personally)) it never crossed my mind that you where running a add with this thread. keep posting. and thanks again southern.

Ive been making this recipe for while now. I double it and use 4 gallons of water total. And i use whatever bar of soap I have in the house. I shave it and boil it first to liquify it, then mix it with the rest of the water, then mix in borax and washing soda--then let it sit overnight to solidify.

Works great. I am going to try fels naptha soap next.

I have a great "recipe" for baby wipes. It will save you a ton of money...I will need to dig it up in the morning and I will post it then. I always felt so proud of myself for making my own...and I did use cloth diapers too on my first child. I soaked them in a diaper pail filled with borax and water.

I'll find my recipe in the morning and post.

oh I totally forgot about homemade baby wipes. I make my own saves tons of money and is gentler on the babies bum.
