For those who's spouses don't play along....

Gosh NO! You don't have to trim the beeks. That is the horrible, inhumane thing the egg and meat mills do. The beeks are very sensitive. The answer to the problem is "Pinless Peepers" from eggcartons.com

Check out the results at my personal site linked below and email me if you have questions.

YEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWW

I feel the OCD commin' on... get 2 more to make it 25. Can anyone say Mr.Monk???

I want 24 for my OCD (an even 2 dozen eggs if they all lay in a day!) LOL!

So honestly me and my husband have a great relationship, and I can never keep a secret from my best friend so tonight (after trying to get off the pasty butt from one chicken the feed store left on way too long) I told him I had a secret. Then I proceeded to tell him, oh by the way the feed store is getting buff orpingtons tomorrow, can I get some? And he's thinking about it, and says I think you have quite a few.

I finally confessed I have been sneaking down adding more chicks to the box (I moved them all to a bigger brooder, he still didn't notice!) He laughed because he knew he didn't notice and then he's like "WOW, 23? It doesn't seem like there are that many! Oh, and I was wondering how you knew what the feed store was going to have." Oui! He might not pay attention to my chickens but he caught me in my words!"

So since he said 23 doesn't seem like to many and he didn't say anything on the opingtons I'm thinking that's a yes right? Do you think he'll notice a couple of indian runner ducks in the mix?

Technically, you would need 26 - two full Baker's dozens if they all lay in a day. That and in case one or two take a day off laying - you still get 2 dozen.
