forcing a hen to go broody?

this is what i do......... put 12 eggs in an egg box, wait 2 or 3 days, and every single time..... somebody decides to be a mom..... they do not have to be broody first....

I've also got black sex link hens and have never seen one go broody, no matter how many eggs are in the nest box. I have one EE mutt hen who goes dependably broody in May and August each year, but she's the only one. The others just ignore both her and the chicks.

I have seen that barnyard mutts always seem to be the broodiest hens in the world... That and silkies...
