Forcing bird to sit on egg?

I usually store them pointy side down in an egg carton, and tilt it side to side several times a day by putting something under one side and alternate. I believe that most folks reccomend storing at 55-60 degrees like in a cool basement. Honestly, mine are usually on the kitchen counter at about 67-68 degrees or whatever the house temp is set at. This has been working almost too well for me. My huband needs to build a new coop. Good luck!

Edit: You don't need humidity for storage.

You've gotten good information. You need to store the eggs your saving

in either a cardboard box, or egg carton, pointy end facing downwards, the

air sac is in the big end. If your storing for more than 2 days, turn the eggs

once daily. You can store for up to 7-10 days. If stored any longer than that,

their chance of hatching will dramatically decrease. Store them at room temp.

(65-70 F) no humidity needed. And Your good. Please never force any hen on

eggs, they will not sit on them unless they are broody, let alone take

care of chicks.
