I bought 3 black australorps and 3 buff orpingtons that was four months old from a local well respected chicken farmer. When they arrived at my place they all were doing well. After a couple of weeks one of the black australorps got to where she couldn't walk and barely could get around. When she would stand on her left foot, her right foot would want to stick stright out. After month in a half to two months she got better. You couldn't have asked for a better looking chicken. About 3 weeks later she feel back into the spell of not knowing how to walk again. She didn't pull out of it this time.
My guess of what was going on was that she may have been allergic to something that she was getting into when she was allowed to free range. This is only a guess, I haven't got the foggiest clue.
Does anyone have an idea of what may have been going on?
