Former 'Sick Box' now known to be Polish- Bantam or not? Pic w/eggbox

Does it look to anyone else as if it has a beard? It has such large tufts its eyes are nearly half-obscured. I'll try to get a good shot of it.

Yep, he or she has a beard. There are both bearded and non-bearded Polish.

Okay, in order to prevent myself from ever getting worse (as if that could happen...) about my instant chicken-addiction, I've deliberately avoided delving into different breeds, particularly adorable ones. I have now shot that to the curb with prejudice, imbibing to the degree of three new breeds in a week and a half...

I've also discovered that Polish are called Dutch Crested and Bearded Polish are Dutch Bearded and Crested...so then there's the possibility that this little smidgeon is banty, too, right?

My Chicken Encyclopedia insists that they are a true bantam and doesn't make room for the full-sized model, so I'm going off of research on the web and what I've absorbed in the forum to contradict that idea. Can anyone give me an idea of how large a polish chick should be at any given age? I've tried to identify by his/her feather stage the age it must be, and I think it's about a week old, but it's a tiny little thing! I think I'll post a pic of it in an egg carton (or near) so everyone can get an idea of the size- I'm hoping someone can tell me banty yea or nay.

Polish, and about a week old, maybe 8 days...

...I need help determining whether my newly-identified glorious Polish is a bantam or not...I don't know what size it ought to be at a week, and since it was sick, I need to try to gauge its growth- it seems so tiny, even compared to my 2-week old banty cochins.

Using something with which we are all familiar for reference, can anyone tell me whether I am Mom to another banty, or whether this is a standard Polish?
