Fort Cluck - First Time Building Coop

No rain comes in but there’s a pretty decent overhang to prevent it. Only rain that gets in is from the holes in the roof since it was repurposed tin. I just used flexseal to cover the holes up
Would you happen to know how much overhang you have, in ft? Not a big deal just trying to decide if I want to go that way on my coop or just make it flush and add gable vents and windows around it.

How would I go about putting a little enclosed run on this while still being able to shut the door and set food and water in it? It’ll only be for a broody and her chicks until they can be with the rest of the flock. An opossum or cat ( I ended up seeing both when I spent an hour trying to look for the missing baby :hit) already managed to nab one of her chicks within 15 minutes of me having to run into the house and coming back out to shut the coops up

To start off, it’s still a work in progress. Though, we finished it enough to put the hens and chicks in so they could get a break from the roosters ( going to be getting rid of most of them eventually ). The project started back in July and it took until yesterday to ‘finish’, lol. My dad did most of it, honestly, but I helped whenever I could and supervised. There’s some things I don’t like about it such as the nesting boxes, the roost and the fact it’s all plywood. It was supposed to be all recycled barn wood and we had two walls up of it, but my dad took it all down and put the plywood up while I was at work one day. Oh well, I guess. Siding will be put on the outside over the plywood and there will be more framing, I think. He’s doing his own thing at this point.

I’m going to redo the nesting boxes to make them deeper and another bar is going to be put on the roost so it isn’t as far of a jump for the hens. But does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

It’s a 12x12 coop
Is that 16" framing? That will last forever once painted. Wow!! You guys did a fantastic job!

Looks great!!! I've been building our run for two years and Im still not done. LOL
I have on a hill side so we had to truck in and move 22cubic tons of dirt to level some on my yard - moving one wheelbarrow at a time down hill and tossed through a fence. lol (My husband hates me lol)
