Fortworth Texas

No I live out in Alvarado. But I have been keeping up on the news and the DFW chicken board.
That is really sad. I dont really understand what the big deal is. They can blame cockfighting all they want to but it all boils down to what they want Ft. Worth to look like. And some people look down on us animal folks. If the same people were made to watch a video on how a chicken is treated that lays eggs for them in the store, they would all run out and buy them some chickens. JMHO

I live in Springtown on 7 acres - have 80 darlings - a VERY mixed flock, from Silver Seabright Bantams to Jersey Giants, 7 of them are roosters - Did Fort Worth make a ruling on having roos in the city? I don't read the paper everyday.

I am south of everyone in Cedar Park, also trying to change laws.I am being forced to get rid of my flock this evening but am fighting to get them back. Maybe some information I have discovered will be helpful to others and is what I have sent my city council.
http://www.chicken-revolution.com/? they have a great legal section and have a "how to" plan on their web site.

http://www.imarkrealty.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Why-Backyard-Chickens-in-Flower-Mound.pdf A group in Flower Mound put this file together and says it about as good as anything I have seen. I have forwarded it on to my city council for their review and hopefully it will affect a change. Also a web site called change.org is where you can create petitions that people sign online and it will go directly to city hall. We have one going in Cedar Park, you don't have to live here to sign, and I will sign anyone's petition I see posted for their town as the councils are looking at numbers and reasons to change. https://www.change.org/petitions/ci...-the-city-ordinance-so-i-can-keep-my-chickens

The government used to advertise for people to raise their own.

That was back when government realized that "it" served the people, not the other way around...before "it" got so big it decided it could intrude into every facet of people's lives. The sun was rising and setting LONG before the current excuse we have for government was ever dreamed up.

Good Morning, I live on the far west side of Ft Worth. Im actually in Parker county but still considered Ft Worth. When i bought my house my paperwork stated we could have animals, with the exception of swine. Just about everyone out this way has 3/4 or better acre lots. So the wife and I decided on 12 chickens, 3 geese & 8 ducks. Of course the two closest neighbors were consultited first, and they had no issues with us getting them. The one family even said, "Let us know when they start laying, we'll put in our order."

In Fort Worth too, over by Ridgmar Mall. We're looking to start our duck flock but haven't had much luck locally yet, which is our preferance.
