If a breed thread gets too long or too conversational for me to keep up with, I have a very KISS solution- I go elsewhere. I go to someplace where I can find the information with a lot less wading, and it's the breed clubs, a show, or local (NW are) breeders that are often the source.
I used to think BYC could be 'changed' to be made into a place that could cater to both those looking for a social-based poultry site and those who are serious exhibitors, now I see it as a way to network and touch base with those close to me, whom I might meet at a show and be able to talk/share birds with, a place to look for eggs for fun, or a place to pick up used equipment.... and I go elsewhere to get down to the nitty gritty. I'm in an intensive program right now and I don't have the time I used to to sift through the posts while trying to make time to answer questions or try to redirect what might be misinformation (which happens, everyone makes mistakes).... so I go a place which is more.... succinct.
