Found a chicken tied up on the side of the road...

We have jerks drop off animals on our road all the time. This is the first time we have found a tied up animal though! I think she must have come off of a chicken truck in the past or something because She's a broiler chicken. Her legs are HUGE! but she's surprisingly very soft feathered. Here's a picture of her eating some grass we gave her!

Are you sure she is a broiler? She looks skinny to be a broiler with those long legs! Do you have a guess on her age? Broilers usually die at a few months of age.

I just looked up a picture of broiler chickens and they resemble her a lot!

We have some chicken houses right up the road from us so it could have escaped from there

I guess we will just keep her as long as she live! She will have a happier life living in our coop rather than a super crowded barn filled with thousands of other chickens!

I think somebody stole the chicken and then panicked and left her by the road- whatever she has a great home now

We were on our way to pick up a few EEs a couple weeks ago and there was a Polish chicken just walking down the side of the road..it seemed like it had somewhere to be though...Lol. Still funny to see such a strange chicken walking down the side of a busy road.
