Found a dead chick next to my broody hen

I had a turkey (female) that killed other birds, (ducks and broiler chickens. She had grown up with them, but at a certain age she looked at them and her instincts declared themselves). She had blood on her beak and kept at the bird when I discovered the crime scene. She had nothing in her resembling guilt, she was eating them. If your hen thought killing was ok/desirable, I agree with @Mrs. K she would have eaten the baby, you would see blood on her and a horrible mess on the baby. They don't stop when you arrive. (Yes, it was traumatic scene, unmistakable for what was going on)

Above is a similar thread, the momma had a dead baby as her first hatchling (possibly crushed, or just born weak as he didn't get out of the shell) she got to keep the eggs and she raised them well.
